This is a complaint but also a kinda PSA. I recently purchased a SanDisk Ultra Dual Drive. It features a USB-C side and a USB-A side (both retractable). As I often switch between my PC, Uni computers and my MacBook Pro (2018), this would be a great aid in transferring files quickly.
However, to my surprise, I found that the USB-C side of the drive is not supported by the MacBook Pros. Nor the Airs. The SanDisk page detailing compatibility states it is only compatible with the 12" MacBook (2015) as of now. Would anyone be able to explain to me why this is the case? Does it have something to do with Thunderbolt 3?
