Sandisk officially won't support SSD connection to smartphones

Discovered today that both of my Sandisk Extreme Pro 2TB devices won’t work with my iPhone 15 Pro Max, trying to connect them to transfer files or for recording footage direct to disk.

Support told me they only support SSDs connected to PC or Mac, not smartphones:

That’s a HUGE target market that have just been alienated.

That’s what I was trying to do and the support agent wasn’t bothered - he first of all told me the product page says they aren’t compatible with iPhones, then when I said it doesn’t say that he said it’s in the datasheet… again, it isn’t…
Then he pointed me to the above link and told me that Sandisk don’t support them on anything other than Mac or PC… so wouldn’t open a support case…
