Sandisk Extreme PRO and Extreme Plus concerns

So, I was researching what to buy for my H6B, and kinda dug into the Sandisk lineup and unearthed several oddities. Before I get into it, let me preface with the following assumption that I’m basing on the approved cards list: it appears that GoPros cannot yet properly utilize he UHS-II bus setup for microSD cards, and instead require the UHS-I setup. If this assumption is incorrect, then my assessment below changes slightly with regards to the Extreme Pro cards.

So here were the issues I found:

The Sandisk Extreme Pro microSD cards only exist on Sandisk’s website in a UHS-II bus setup, not the UHS-I setup, but are sold on Amazon in the UHS-I setup. I find that suspicious – were the UHS-I variety actually produced at some point, or are the ones on Amazon fake? If they’re real, why aren’t they listed on the Sandisk website? If they are real, are they just no longer in production? Why is Amazon just about the only place that seems to list them?

The Sandisk Extreme Plus microSD cards in a UHS-I setup do exist on Sandisk’s website, but you can’t find them in stock just about anywhere besides Amazon (and that includes Sandisk’s own website.) I find this a bit odd as well – is this just an issue of demand exceeding supply, or were issues discovered with these cards and a manufacturing stop was put on them?

here is the extreme pro UHS-I card on the sandisk website

The extreme plus thing is likely just a popular card with supply issues at this time. Amazon is a huge seller so i am not surprised that get stock first.
