I Dont hows it happen. When i plug it in my laptop popup message showing you’ll need to format the drive. uable to format and it start showing 64MB only :mansad: I’ve try to format all method even formatting tools did’nt work.I Think its totally dead.
did you format it before use?

As you have found formatting is over rated. It was popular in the days of Windows XP. Try running chkdsk on the drive. If that fails then your suspicions are probably right. Hopefully you have backups of your files somewhere.
In this case the pen drive can not be repaired. I have the same issue and cotacted the data recovery expert engineer they gave my all data back. You can contact rahul.singh@datacare.net.in or visit www.datacare.in.net
hmmmm How much did they charge you to recover your files?
Their webpage is confusing, most links on it simply reshow the home page. And the email address you gave is to a different domain then the link you gave. datacare.net.in / datacare.in.net
Does your id, dcsnet, indicate you work for datacare.net.in?? Are you posting SPAM!! to this 2 year old thread???
here is the solution if Sandisk flash drive is recognized as Sandisk 64mb RAW then the NAND is disconnected from the controller as this video explains

chances are the USB stick is counterfeited
“SanDisk Anisha” is the factory alias of the controller. When the Flash Translation Layer becomes corrupt, or the NAND IC cannot be detected, the controller reverts to identifying itself using its factory alias and a reduced capacity.
That is what I suspected but the OP’s Cruzer is kaput. I have not seen any software to access the controller on a USB stick. Probably is used by miscreants in China who make fake Sandisk.
I assumed that the OP’s Cruzer failed during normal use. You can access the controller and NAND on a USB stick with ChipGenius or this tool:
https://www.antspec.com/usbflashinfo/index.php
Note that ChipGenius is a popular target for malware.
SanDisk’s controllers might not be supported.
I suggest a USB 2.0 port if available for some of these tools as USB 3.0 is sometimes tricky.
It sounds like your drive might be suffering from severe partition corruption or firmware-level damage, especially if it only shows 64MB and refuses to format.
You should try some data recovery software that supports RAW drive recovery or professional data recovery services.
If you are good at command lines, try TestDisk (free tool) – it’s great for rebuilding damaged partition tables. It might detect the original partition and help restore access.
Have you stored important data on the USB flash drive? If yes, you can use professional disk recovery programs to salvage the files first. (If not, skip the step.) Afterward, wipe the flash drive using the diskpart command, create a new partition, format the partition, and then assign a drive letter.
