I have WD Element 10B8 drive and use Windows 7 32 bit. When I want to eject my drive, I use “safely remove” option from Windows and it’s accepted. But my drive and it’s LED is still on, although I can’t access it. I try to use WD Smartware too, but there is no “safely remove” option in there. Can someone help me to safely remove and shut down my drive?

If you select “Safely Remove” option and it says the drive has been removed safely then you can just disconnect the drive.
