My PC crashed while I was transferring some data on my external hard drive and I lost other files that were on my hard drive during the crash. However, I saw that there is a file called “.trashes” on my hard drive now. The volume indicates that the lost files are there but when I click on the .trashes file it says that it is empty (I can not see the deleted data). If I transfer the file “.trashes” in my PC, I can see that thoses files are transferred too but I cannot retrieve them either.
Do you know how can I do that?

If your files or data isn’t there in Recycle Bin or Trash folder, then either you have emptied your recycle bin or you accidentally permanently deleted your files.
