Replacing faulty HD in a MyBook Pro II raid

Dear Sirs,

one of the HDs in my MyBook Pro II external drive has failed today. I have all my data as the first drive is working correctly but it’s being difficult to find a replacement drive so I can get my RAID back to work. I’d like to be able to work in RAID mode ASAP.

Can I use other model of WD 1 TB drives? I have been thinking about backing up information and install 2 new bigger drives in the MyBook Pro II casing. is that possible or it will only with with WD 1 TB drives?

Hello,

As a recommendation, will be better if you try to get the same type of unit as the one that went bad.

It’s not recommended to use a different drive to rebuilt a raid configuration.
