i need advice on what External is better and Why? WD 1TB Passport vs WD 1TB Element?
i would appreciate the help.
It depends what you need. Passports are USB powered and the ones that come with Smartware are hardware encrypted. Elements is a simple plug and play drive with no software and is not encrypted. Personally I wolud go with a powered drive over a USB powered drive.

Elements Portable is USB powered. And the better choice if you don’t want 3rd part software interfering with how you work.
