…just installed new Passport Ultra 2TB. Registered product, etc. How do I find out if any software needs an upgrade? I do want the latest SVR.

If you installed the WD Smartware backup software, under the settings tab, you will be able to see the version of the software
The latest is Windows release 2.2.1 (updated 11/25/2013)
