I recently purchased a Sansa Clip. Is it possible to set up folders or playlists so I can play just a group of songs that I designate? I’ve transferred over a hundred songs to my Sansa, but all it does is list all my songs and plays them accordingly. I don’t know how to separate them in case I want to listen to just a specific genre. Does the Clip support folders or playlists? Thanks.
Do you have the original Clip or the Clip+?
If the Clip+, you can play by folder–it’s a choice at the bottom of the Music listing.
With either, you can set up a playlist (or Go List) for songs. There are a number of ways to set up a playlist, using different software. Here’s a link to a number of SanDisk articles on playlists.
For Go Lists, the Clip manuals have info.
Not sure which I have, but thanks for the help. I’ll check out the link. Just wanted to make sure I was able to organize my songs for playback in some fashion. I figured it had to be possible one way or another or else the functionality of the Sansa Clip would be pretty lacking .
If your player has a microSD slot, it’s a Clip+.
The 2 great benefits of the Clip+:
– the microSD slot/storage expandability
– the ability to navigate by folder.
It mentioned with the Mico SDHC card in my SanDisk you can organize/navigate by folders. I need more information on HOW TO. I have uploaded 4 MP3 CD and they are ALL shuffled and it is a mess. You try to listen and hear one part and in order to get to the second part I have to scroll down to find it. I hope you can help.

Additionally, for navigating by the player’s database choices (artist, title, etc.), it sounds like your ID3 tags for the files, which the database uses, are incorrect and need to be edited. You can use a tag editor like MP3Tag (Internet freeware) to do so.
