On my Mac unable to connect my passport wireless to wifi

On my Mac when I plug my passport wireless via usb cable I will get the led blue light steady but unable to connect to wifi on MacBook Air 2019. Only when I unplug my device the 2 blue light come up and I am able to connect my passport via website, but it won’t open. I do need some help!
Thank you,
Evy

If you’re only plugging it in via USB to power / charge the drive, you can use a different cable than a data cable.

If you’re trying to connect and access data via USB and also via WiFi at the same time, no, that’s not going to work. One way or the other, but not both at the same time.

Hi Tony,
I’m only trying to connect my passport device via usb cable on Mac which won’t connect to wifi (my passport) but only when I disconnect the device it will automatically connect to wifi on Mac and my passport will show up!

Sorry, the endless connection issues for the WD MyPassport make it a headache and not worth using. It may or may not connect via wireless, if it feels like it. To connect via wireless, you lose your wireless connection to the internet. So, you can either transfer files only from your internal hard drive to the WD Passport, or use the internet, not both simultaneously. WD MyPassport will not connect reliably to the computer via the USB cable. It simply won’t. One out of a hundred times, it might show up. Total nightmare, no straightforward or easy fixes, no good advice on the WD site, absolute waste of money.

make a right click on your passport drive > go to Get info. Change the all the permissions at the bottom to read &write. if not able able to make changes then click on the Golden Padlock and enter computer password then make the changes. My Pasco Connect
