No power to my WDBAAU0010 HBK-01

I purchased a P/N WDBAAU0010 HBK-01  with the S/N [Deleted]   R/N D3C online at Quibids.com and it was a new product in the box. It’s a 1TB External WD hard drive and I had no problem with it until we moved. When I got to the new home and unboxed it and plugged it in. I had no power. The power light would not light up green like it used to and the Drive does not run. I thought perhaps the power chord got damaged somehow in the move, so I purchased another chord from Western Digital here online. Unfortunately…it will STILL not power on. Can anyone tell me is my External Hard Drive fried then? If so…is there a way to get my files off of it ? Any help or suggestions you might be able to give me would sincerely be appreciated.

Thank you  and God Bless…

Hi, sorry to hear you cannot access your files, it seems that the hard drive is faulty. If you need to recover your files, there are several recommended data recovery companies on the WD support page, some of them can give you a free evaluation of the drive. Check the link below for more information.

Thank you very much for the information on where to go to do a recovery. Since the drive will not power up, I had no clue on how to recover the contents without power. This is very helpful in itself and as soon as I can find the time to talk to one of the companies listed for recovery options…I will definitely get back to ya’ll on how that goes. Have a great week everyone.
