First i have several my books that work with my tv. The newest one when plugged goes to the load screen then when you select video it says usb not connected. The drive works on my windows computer. I have read several things and tried an old usb cord but to no avail. I would appreciate any ideas on how to get the not connected issue resolved. Thank you.
is the drive GPT or MBR Partition Style ? (and what partition style are the working drives?)
because, some TV’s don’t like GPT Partitions

thank you for the help it seems that is the issue the new drive seems to be gpt and the old one that i checked is mbr. Now may i ask how do i change this if i can change this. Thank you again.
If you haven’t got any files on it … then reformat (wipe) the HDD deleting all partitions (Using Windows Disk Managment) and chose MBR Partitioning
Or WD Quick Formatter (choose XP Compatabilty mode)
NOTE: the above 2 procedures will DELETE your Data / Files
if you do have files on it (and don’t want to lose them) then use 3rd Software to convert GPT to MBR

This procedure will not delete your data / files (i have personally done it several times) … but it’s always better to be safe and always have a backup (just in case)
