OK I am having major problems.  I can’t even get the message board to work today.

My daughter has an iPod and I don’t have any trouble downloading and syncing that.

Is there any was to transfer purchases from iTunes to my new Sansa Fuze.  If so, could you send step by step directions,

Thanks for any help!!

Sansa Fuze Doesn’t support iTunes Files…But you can covert them with a media converter.

Thanks and sorry for the stupid question, but what is a media converter?

Use Itunes to convert the files to .mp3 format. Then you can just drag & drop them into the Fuze’s MUSIC folder.

Thanks for all the help!!  I give up!  I have wasted my whole day on this and it is still not working.  I couldn’t find the converter in itunes and I tried to burn a disk and drag and drop the ones that I want it that didn’t work either.  This unit is a whole lot of confusion.  The ipod was nothing to figure out.  Maybe I will try again another day.

Thanks for the help unfortunely I can’t get this to work.

Dont drag and drop from the CD. That could be the issue. Try Windows media player or a nonitunes player to rip the CD files to your computer as mp3 files…

Are you using a PC or a Mac?  If a Mac, see http://guyscharf.wordpress.com/mp3-on-macintosh/.

If a PC, the biggest difference between iPods and any other brand mp3 player is that iTunes will not talk with a non-Apple player and synchronize files to it.  You will need to use iTunes (or another program) to convert the files from their native AAC (m4a) format to mp3 format.  When, using Windows Explorer, find the directory containing the mp3 files.  Then you can drag those files to the Fuze.   Using this approach, you are usually better off if you put your player in MSC mode (Settings->System Settings->USB).

If you want software to help you synchronize files on your computer to the player, use software that supports non-Apple players, such as Windows Media Player or Media Monkey.  I use Media Monkey for managing all my audio files.

Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the tress. Or you get tunnel-visioned where you are so focused on 1 particular thing that everything else just ‘will not compute’.

Take a break and leave it alone for a while. Clear your mind. Do something else. Then come back to it tomorrow. Chances are you’ll see things in a whole new light!

I had the same problems you did, but figured it out. (finally and after many frustrating hours)  SMC - or Sansa Media Converter came with my daughter’s fuze. Otherwise you can download it from the Sansa site.  I used the Sansa site to be sure I had the latest version.  Then I satrted up SMC, located the iTune music in the iTune folder and it converted to the fuze fine.  My bigger problem was loading video and I never did figure out how to load those from itunes.  I did find videos through you tube downloader - then used SMC and that worked.  Good luck.

Samiam -

Sometimes you can’t see the forest for the tress. Or you get tunnel-visioned where you are so focused on 1 particular thing that everything else just ‘will not compute’. You’re probably inundated with everyone trying to give you different advice, so it’s easy to get confused. The folks here are so eager to help that we sometimes make matters worse by offering all these different suggestions. You don’t know which ones to believe and follow and which ones to ignore. And you are afraid of screwing things up even worse!

Take a deep breath and set away from the computer. I mean it! Take a break and leave it alone for a while. Clear your mind. Do something else. Then come back to it tomorrow, or the next day. Chances are you’ll see things fresh and in a whole new light!

What are you talking about? SMC (Sansa Media Converter) DOES NOT convert music files, Apple or otherwise. It is ONLY used for converting photo and video files! It does nothing for I-tunes. Please don’t confuse the issue anymore by spouting mis-information and in-correct advice!
