When using a i Mac you cannot open MyPassport as an App (even though WD call it an App)! I had to set it up as a favourite in Safari. I would like to thank [Deleted - Privacy] in WD support for helping me sort this out this morning.
Also had a problem connecting MyPassport (WIFI) together with my routers (WIFI) this is a case sensitive password.
This was because I had used a case sensitive password on MyPassport (WIFI)! Changed to a non- case sensitive password and problem solved! Thanks King in 1.5 support at WD for his help!
Terminolgy is important.
If you are using a Safari favorite to access the MPW (MyPassport Wireless), then you are using the built in web interface on the MPW, which is called the Dashboard everywhere I have read about it. I’ve never seen it called an App. The description “App” is reserved for the iOS and Android MyCloud Apps.
However, there is an application (note the lower case “a”, not an App, and application) available for use on an iMac. It is called the " WD Quick View for Mac". You can find it here: http://support.wdc.com/product/download.asp?groupid=227&sid=183&lang=en
Nevertheless, good to hear WD Support is helpful.
This quick view app works great for my 4 EX, but was not able to get it to find my MPW But the dash board worked just the same!
