I had myBook on a Dell PC running Windows 7. The PC crashed. I replaced the PC with a Dell PC running Windows 10. Now I cannot see MyBook. It appears that I need to format MyBook but I can’t do this as I can’t see it. I don’t have a PC with Windows 7. Is there any way to format MyBook with my Windows 10 PC ?
Hello,
Yes, you can reformat your WD My Book on Windows 10 but be aware that this process erase all data and files on the drive. Take a look at the link below:
MyBook shows up as Disk 1 and indicates not initialized. When I attempt to
initialize the disk I get a pop up window indicating “Access Denied”. I
tried both GPT and MBR partition styles.
I’m thinking the problem is that I had this MyBook on a Windows 7 PC that
crashed. My new PC is Windows 10. Is don’t have access to a Windows 7 PC.
Is there anything I can do using Windows 10 ?
