I purchased WD My book 2 TB (WDBACW0020HBK-BESN) two months back and since It was working fine on my Windows XP Desktop,

But Yesterday I connected it with my new Dell inspiron laptop having windows 8. At first it get recognized but after 2-3 minutes it lost connection…………  and after that It is not recognized  neither by Laptop nor by desktop…………only blinks light……………Please help……….

As suggested, I tested my hdd using data lifeguard dignostics… But it is not recognized by data lifeguard diagnostics. I tried my hdd on my friends system with another usb cable and adapter but unfortunately …no result…I think I have to go for replacement…
