Help please!

I’m a fourth year high school student and I have a WD 1TB My Passport External Hard Disk Drive. Now when I first connect it to me Notebook PC the computer recognize it as something like this: “WD My Passport 0748”. After about 1 week I connect my WD My Passport to my Notebook again and the computer now recognizes it as “Local Disk ( J: )”. I really think there is a problem with the connection but the external drive works normal.

That’s not necessary a problem. Even thought I’ll suggest you to backup your data and run the Western Digital DLG tool, this application is available for download at wdc.com
