My Passport Wireless SSD: cannot connect to 2.4 GHz WiFi network

Greetings!

Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19045.4717]
My Passport Wireless SSD running the firmware version 1.04.17

After system reset and setup complete, sometimes I cannot connects to the unit’s 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. Can this be related the fact that the device is connected to my home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network and it 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi adapter is already occupied?

How many Wi-Fi network does the device have?

Thank you.

Are you trying to connect directly to the Passport? If so, then yes. Your Passport has joined your home network. You should be able to connect to it through your home network using it’s IP address. If you need to connect directly, You’ll need to switch modes to Direct Wireless AP mode.

The user manuals are located here if you need them.

Yes, I want to use the device in Direct Wireless AP mode.
How do I switch from Home Wi-Fi Network Connection to Direct Wireless (AP) Connection?
User manuals do not explain this step clearly?

I don’t have one myself, but looking at the docs it appears that you need to:

Log on to the Passport Dashboard. Select WiFi. You’ll see the column that lists the local WiFi Networks. Toggle the switch to “OFF”.

So basically the opposite of connecting to a home network covered on page 20 of the manual.
