Is the drive 80211.n compatible?
Does 2.4ghz or 5 ghz matter?

The drive is 802.11 n compatible, however it only supports 2.4 GHz.
Just to clarify: the MPW wireless signal only connects to devices and networks at 2.4G. Nevertheless, if it is on the home network and you want to connect to it with your devices wirelessly, use 5G to connect to it (i.e. to the network) and you will notice the improvment with high quality videos. It can be the difference between having juttery and stalling video to none of this! ( I keep mine near my router, plugged into it’s PS, and on my home network when at home (never use it as a direct connect at home) and always connect to it at 5G (unless I need more range for outside to listen to music, so then I may use 2.4G to connect to network.)
