I’m using WD Smartware (the latest version).  I understand WD Smartware does not sync files.   WD Sync is no longer available.  Two questions:

1.  Is there a known Sync program that works wih WD Smartware files, or do I need to use a different backup program?

2.  Does Western Digital have plans to provide Sync Software that will work with WD Smartware?

I’m knew to this backup process.  Would appreciate any advise.

Sync software and backup are totally different things

combining is not a good idea

1- it does not work

2- sync software will erase deleted files from the external drive as opposed to the backup that will keep them for future retrieval

you can use two software at once and sort of combine what you want to do, but you won’t be able to make the sync software work with Smartware
