I just purchased a used 500gb My Passport for Mac usb2.0 and I’m trying to format it but My Mac isn’t recognizing it as a hard drive. It only shows up as a disk. Someone please help!!!

Can you please share the model number of the drive? might be possible that the drive came with a virtual disk and that’s what you are seeing.
