My passport is shown as offline when attempting to upload data in iOS

Prior to WD’s iOS update on June 25, 2016 I could upload files from my iPad apps such as Adobe reader, Goodnotes, Photos, iFile, etc to the MyPassport wireless with the share/open in features of the app. Now when I try to do it, I can’t upload because I get a message that MyPassport is offline. Even when MyPassport is in its wireless mode, I’m connected to its network, and l can communicate with it using the myCloud app, I still get the offline message when trying to upload.

I use my iPad for field work, often Internet isn’t available, and I use MyPassport as a backup for collected data.

How can The MyPassport be recognized as being on line?

Hello,

Thank you for reporting the issue with the My Cloud Mobile App 4.4.5 “send to” feature.

An alternate solution is to:

  • Open the My Cloud Mobile App
  • Select your My Passport Wireless Device
  • Navigate to the directory you wish to upload content
  • Click the three dots in the upper right hand corner of the app
  • Click “Add Photo”
  • Select the content to upload
  • Click “Upload” in the lower right hand corner of the screen
