i deleted all my data from my passport but i cant upload any additional data because it still reads that its full of data even tho i deleted all data.

DON"T FORGET TO EMPTY THE TRASH CAN, else the disk will appear to remain full. 

If you’re intention was to delete all material, why not reformat using Disk Utilty.Save any WD software first though.

Click on the higher level for your disk in the sidebar and use the Partition Tab. Select one partition if that’s all you need.
