My Passport Essential SE won’t show up via USB 3.0, but will show on USB2.0. What gives?? Please help

What I have Tried:

Different cables

Different Macs

Reformatting the Drive with WD Smartware

Reformatting Drive useing Mac Utilitiy

This sounds like a driver issue.

Try uninstalling the drivers for the USB 3.0 and install that again.

Make sure you get the latest USB 3.0 drivers available for your computer.

On a mac? How would you do that? This mac is brand new.

I checked on the apple support site and found this about the drivers.

  • Be sure you’ve installed the latest software updates available for your computer. To check, choose  Software Update  from the  Apple  () menu and see if any updates are available.
