My Passport Cannot Be Seen by my Mac

Yesterday my mac reported a problem with my WD my passport

After which is simply will not be seen by the mac at all.

I hooked it to my windows PC, windows detects it and attempts to download some firmware and I end up with this:

The devices spins when connected to any PC

Flashing White light shows on the Passport.

Any clue what I try next?

Update…

downloaded WD Drive Utilities…although both the quick and complete drive tests failed I can now see My Passport drive and I am offloading files to myself server!.

Time Machine is failing

I guess my question now is this:

Once I have secured all the files I want would a format of the drive make it useable once again?

Hello,

It is possible its a partition issue. So reformatting the drive might solve the problem.
