Initally, this drive worked just fine. It seems to me that the problem started after I updated the WD Smartware in April.
Have performed several back-ups since I got the drive. But now, every time I plug it in, immediately, I get the message “Backup completely successfully”. The file count and size never change. If I go into the external drive contents, the newer data has not been backed up. IOW, content on the source drive (my desktop computer) has changed but the backup drive is not reflecting any of these changes. I tried changing the frequency of backup, but that didn’t matter either.
I contacted WD support and they suggested updating the firmware, which I did. Didn’t make a difference. I don’t know what to do now.
