Hi,

I’ve got a 3TB my book essential for MAC. It was recently plugged into a windows PC to take files off of and since plugging it into a PC it will not read at all on my iMac. I’ve tried it in a MacBook as well with the same response. I’ve also plugged it into a windows laptop and although it shows up I can’t view anything that’s on it. 
Does anybody have any suggestions as to what may be causing this?

Hello paulymac, if the My Book is formatted for Mac using the HFS+ file system it wont be recognized natively on Windows PC’s. Try connection the My Book to your Mac and use the Disk Utility app to repair the My Book. Check the link below for the steps.
