My Book Essential 1TB won't read disk

I had My Book Essential for about 2 weeks and now it does not work completely. When I plug it in to my usb on my macbook is says " disk is not readable " . Last night while I was watching movies from my files it just shut off and hasn’t worked since. Why won’t my drive work any solutions?

Many possible issues might have happened:

The WD MyBook Essential might have been formatted from a PC with FAT32.

When using on a Mac computer soon or later the file is not readable.

I have seen this problem happen quite often.

The solution to this problem is to format it on the Mac computer with either GUID or Apple file format.
