I’ve bought the new my book duo 16 TB wdblwe0160jch with helium technology.
I’ve tried many times on windows and mac os to format in rad 1 and jbods with the WD drive Utilities but no way to make it works.
Look like the WD Utilities delete the partition then will stay there neverending.
I tried with the Windows Disk utility to format and it works , but only reformat as it was so I can’t pass “from factory” raid 0 to raid 1 or jbod. Under mac it can’t see anymore the hdd after tried to format with the WD D. Utilities.
So I imagine something wrong with WD Utilities .
Anyone experiencing the same issue ?

Is your unit connected directly to a wall power outlet? If not, please try that.
Another user using a previous version of the drive was having issues changing to the RAID mode and it was a power issue.
Yes it-s direcly connected.
With WD technical customers service ive tried everything they told me’, unistall this install that and so on …
It’s not working from day 0 …
I’ve bought it at WD Store Italy store …
I asked to be full box change with a brand new one .
I’m waiting they process my request.
UPDATE
I’ts 20 days I’m waiting for UPS code to send back the product and money back.
Now it’s new month so I will pay to credit card the money I’ve spent to buy the HDD and didn’t receive money back from WDStore
Also Technical assistance continue asks for data, copy of the bill, etc. looks like wanna justified they existence and they don’t know so much about hard disks

Same problem: under Windows and under Mac whatever pc or laptop I use there is no way to format changing Rad /jbod … the sw start the process that will never end.
It look likes the sw delete the partition and start the process to make raid 1 or raid 0 or jbod then will stay there forever.
