I have just bought and installed a My Book 4TB but its not showing in Computer, it’s on Device Manager, I can see it to remove a USB device properly. In Smartware its showing up but states no writeable partition, my existing My Book is showing in all areas - do I have a conflict and if so how do I fix it? Oh, when I power off my eisting My book and switch on the new one it assumes the “I” drive.

Make sure you have the drive plugged in on a wall outlet. A power strip or surge might not provide enough power to spin up your drive.
