My 2TB Book Essential Will only work on Windows 8 NOT on 7 or XP

I loaded about 1TB on unit with Windows 7 !  Now my book will only come up in windows 8

When I connect to my windows 7 MY Book will not show in computer drive window. It does show under Control Panel, Devices and Printers (My Book shows up there) But My Book NOT Open.WILL !

Help Please!

Check if the drive appears on disk management.

If it does, verify the status of the drive.

See if possible to assign a drive letter.

Does NOT show in Drive Window! Only wish it did, as I know how to asign another drive address!

In that case try the steps recommended on the link I provided on my first post.
