Micro SD Card Use

So, I just picked up a Sansa Fuze today.  What can I do with the Micro SD slot?  I have a card in there now, but not sure how to use it.  Can I read right from it and listen to music or play video directly from it?  Is it just seen as extra space when I sync?

It’s like an additional memory source. You have to direct what content you want to store there, but the Fuze will populate it’s lists (Artists, Albums, Songs, etc.) from both the internal memory and external memory card and play the files from both seanlessly.

Thanks for the info…

I see the card when I look at the fuze in Windows Explorer and it made a AUDIOBOOKS and PODCASTS folder.  Will this work for audio, video, and pictures?  Would I just create directories for each content type?

I also just purchased a Sansa Fuze 4GB player. I want to buy an external Micro SD card, but I am not sure which one to buy. I want an 8GB if possible. Do you know if that would work, and do I need to buy a certain branch and Class??

Yes. No & No.

In that order.

Short and sweet. Thanks.

If you look around on the forum, you’ll see that many people have had compatibility problems with Kingston cards, but only as far as videos are concerned. For music, it’s all good.

Of course, buying a SanDisk card to go with a SanDisk player makes the most sense to me. But I haven’t heard any other complaints on any other brand, except for the Kingston situation.

Thanks again. One more question if you don’t mind. Do you recommend a High Capacity Micro SD?

Yes I have a 16 gig card in mine right now.

Personally I have a 16GB, 8GB, & several 4 & 2GB cards. When the 32GB card comes out (probably soon) and the price drops a little, I’ll get one of those too.

You can never have too much memory! It’s like a woman’s purse; the more sapce you have, the more junk you can fit inside & carry around with you. :smileyvery-happy:
