I used iXpand Flash Drive since last year and works perfectly. However, I was forced to use memory zone for backing my photos since 4/2025. First, it is not user friendly. And the speed is super slow. More importantly, I find some photos cannot be backed up! How can I solve this issue?
Content that cannot be backed up can be manually copied to the USB Flash Drive.
I have over 27,000 photos. How can I check which single photo is not copied? It seems to me that it is by random!
I tried to put some important photos into a folder created at iPhone and copied the whole folder to save time. However, the photos copied in this way were in HEiC format but not jpeg. This is driving me crazy!
This iXpand drive no longer works as an easy to use back up drive. Can I return with a refund if it is within warranty period?

Instead of letting Memory Zone auto-back up, you should manually drag and drop from your Photos folder into the iXpand drive via the native file browser. It’s faster, more transparent, and reliable.
Otherwise, allow iXpand to work with the app: Go to ‘Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders’ and make sure iXpand Drive has access. Then use the Files app or the iXpand Drive app, not Memory Zone.
