WD Blue 1TB drive, appears to be undamaged.
Neither System Information nor Disk utilities recognize that a drive is installed. I bought two Identical WD Blue SSD drives, and tried one drive at a time, in multiple bays. I know the Bays all work (there’s 1 TB HDD in each now). The drive simply doesn’t show up, as if the bay was empty.
FWIW, I took one of the SSDs and put it in an old Windows box I had lying around and it recognized the SSD immediately. So it does not appear that the drives themselves are damaged. And when I plugged it in to an optical drive connection on the mac, It showed up. (But that’s not a solution - I’ve got 2 CD drives and need both connections.)
I’m just trying to speed up an old machine, and this is driving me nuts.
