I bought a My Book World Edition 1TB (blue rings) several years ago. Over a few moves from Kentucky to Virginia, I misplaced the password and I can’t get to my files. I’ve tried several possible passwords, but no joy. I do not want to reset to factory defaults–that would destroy all my data. Any ideas?
For security reasons the password is the only way into WD drives that are protected with them, aside from the data-deleting factory reset that you want to avoid.
