Linux support and data encryption

Are WD external harddrives compatible with Linux Mint, Ubuntu, etc and at the same time Windows?
Do they also support encryption to enable data integrity and security?
In particular I want to know about

  1. WD Elements WDBUZG0010BBK-EESN 1TB USB 3.0 External Hard Drive
  2. WDBGPU0010BBK-EESN.

Hello, unfortunately WD external drives are not supported in Linux, the WD Elements (WDBUZG0010BBK-EESN) does not have any security built in, unless you use a third party software. The My Passport Ultra (WDBGPU0010BBK) does come with security software, however the application is only supported on Windows and Mac.
