I have a Clip Plus that I’d like to keep playing all the time. I’m going to attach to hallway speaker system in a lounge that’s open 24 hours a day and constantly play music 5 days a week. I think if I keep the USB adapter plugged in, I can keep the player fully charged while it’s playing.
However, will this ruin either the battery or the player? Will it run off the current or wear down the battery overtime? (I’m talking about over and above the normal wear and tear you’d normally get).
If this is no good for the player, I’m sure I’ll find another solution. Look forward to hearing your comments.
I have left one playing while plugged in for up to 10 hours before, but as far as running one all the time like that, I am really not sure what to expect. Hopefully someone here has tried this and can help you out.
Good question.I haven’t heard any stories of someone running a player with a built in battery continuously. I have a feeling that this might not last for very long. I would feel more comfortable using a AAA battery powered player to run all the time, connecting the battery leads to a 1.5 volt ac adapter.

If you’re running off USB power, the battery isn’t used so it shouldn’t really matter. Of course the batteries in these players only last a couple years anyway, so it’ll slowly wear out. But it’ll do that either way.
