Is there a need to install SmartWare for back up purposes?

Hi, I just bought 500GB My Passport Essential and I have a problem installing the SmartWare programme. WIll it affect backing up of files?

Hi,

You can still use the Passport to copy & paste into.

Check for any ‘Virtual CD-ROM mounting Software(Daemon,Sonic,Roxio…etc)’ that could conflict.

Also have the Anti-Virus allow the WD Smartware Installation.
