I want a non-portable external drive with NO encryption

I want a non-portable external drive with NO encryption, or encryption that defaults to OFF, or at the very least encryption I can turn off once when I get the drive and have it stay off forever.

What series of drives have this this, or permit this? Including old model drives if still for sale.

Someone implied Passport? Passport has several sub-kinds and I know some or all have hardware encryption.

Or should I shop at another company? I want what I want and it shouldn’t be this hard to get. I"m lucky I didn’t already buy the wrong thing. Rick

I think you’re after the WD Elements Desktop.

Passports are the small form-factor portable drives, and most include password encryption.

Thanks. That’s good to hear. I didn’t have time to go shopping today, even online, but I will tomorrow.

You’ll probably have to buy online. I rarely see Elements in stores mostly My Books and Passports.
