I have an older external HR that I forgot the password for. I hear that I should reset it but there is no pin hole to reset with.
there is a slot shaped hole that has a symbol of a lock above it.
Can anyone help me reset this drive.
Also, the drive shows up on my computer as a cd drive so I can’t reformat it in that way.

You can download WD Utilities to reformat the drive and loose all data since you don’t remember to password.
Made sure to download WD Security and type in the wrong password 5 time before open WD Utilities to format the drive.
