I bought a My book which connects to my laptop via a wire
is there a way to make it wireless?
The “wire” which connects the My Book to the PC is a USB3 cable. As things stand, the drive cannot be modified to be a wireless drive which is directly reachable via wi-fi.
Even so, it can be reached wirelessly via another PC and/or mobile devices such as phones and tablets if the My Book is shared on your PC so it can be accessed via your home network. How this is done involves more than can be explained here.
A better idea for you is to just buy a wireless drive from WD if that is what you want.
