Having difficulty figuring out how to connect my new MBP with USB-C port to my legacy My Studio II’s Firewire 800 ports. Or do I have to use the USB 2 port instead? Thanks.

WD does recommend using adapter between interfaces.
It might work but sometimes it does not.
I recommend d you try the USB 2.0 if possible
