How to access files remotely?

Hi there.

At home:

My Book Live DUO

I have always used remote desktop to copy files from home to office but I have remembered that I can access my NAS at home which has the most recent versions of all my documents.

With FireFow, I opened up my NAS with https://www.wd2go.com/getDevicesInternal.do

I could log into the NAS and the 4 Shared folders were there. I could manage my way to the folder and document I wanted top open. But, when I double clicked on the doc to open it, I was prompted with a username & password. No matter what I have entered there, I could not gain access.

With remote desktop I then loged into my computer at home and went straight to the NAS with FireFox. I added a new user with username & password with full access and could still not get in. Yes, remote connection is ticked.

Is there something else I can do or is there something I am doing wrong?

I urgently need your help.

Regards,

Deon

If I can add to what I have said.

When I want top open up a Word Doc, a login screen pops up prompting for a username & password. I have tried everything assosiated with my NAS, but nothing works.

What cridentials do I need to insert there?

Please.

Hello,

Does that happen with all files? or just the word Doc or office Docs?

Hi there.

As far as I could tell it is only doc & docx. It prompts for username & password when I want to open it directly. I have tried all username & password credentials I have and nothing works. But, I can copy the file from there to my local machine.
