WD my passport and NAS Server

Hello

I would like to use the WD with password for a NAS Server.

But when I set a password with my laptop and then connect the wd with the NAS, the NAS does not anymore identify the WD. Without setting a password there is no problem with the NAS. Is there a possibility to install the password directly on the NAS Server or are there other suggestions?

Ich habe eine WD mypassport und würde diese gerne mit Passwortschutz an meinen NAS Server anschliessen um automatische BAckups zu erstellen. Ohne Passwortschutz erkennt der NAS Server die WD problemlos und kann darauf schreiben. Wenn ich aber am laptop die WD mit Passwort schütze erkennt der NAS Server die WD nicht mehr, wenn ich sie anschliesse.

Gibt es eine Möglichkeit den WD Passwortschutz auf dem NAS Server zu installieren? Oder haben Sie eine andere Empfehlung?

Hello,

Unfortunately, due to the hardware encryption on the unit, you wont be able to see the drive if the password is set.

Regarding setting the password from the NAS, at the moment we don’t have an option like that.
