Hi,
I plugged my 4TB My Book into my Macbook pro and never was given the automatic option to backup files from my computer. So I went onto the WD website and downloaded their WD Smartware software. I see the Backup and Retrieve tabs at the top, but I CANNOT select them. Also, My external My Book has been automatically saving the contents of my computer to the external hard drive approximately every hour!
What I want to do is to be able to manually backup files and set it to automatically backup on a certain schedule.
I would also like a way to confirm that the files are safely uploaded to the external hard drive so I can clear that space on my computer.
Finally, if I can have it so that the My Book is not automatically backing up my computer every hour that would be nice too.
