WD External and Portable SSD External SSD for macOS

I am hoping that someone on here might be able to help me.  I have a new iMac with two internal hard drives.  On hard drive is the OS and the other is all of the data.  I want to be able to backup the data but my WD My Book Essential only finds the internal OS hard drive and not the data hard drive.  How can I get WDSmartWare to recognize the second hard drive so I can just backup the data?  I have Time Machine already saving the OS onto a different external hard drive so I can keep them separate.

By design SmartWare for Mac will only backup the primary drive. You may submit this suggestion to the Ideas forum: http://community.wdc.com/t5/Software-Accessory-Ideas/idb-p/software_ideas

Looks like this option is not available on Mac.

Time Machine will do the job but don’t know if you can specify there to skip one drive.
