Help un-locking MyBook passport 750GB (I have password, funny I know)

Hello, 

I connected MyBook to an universal power adapter, but the connectors were saddly switched + for -. So circut and everything is fried, but disk is ok. 

I took out hard disk and inserted it into other 3,5 external casing. 

Now this is where the problem starts. I had password protection in MYBook, using WD Smartware. 

PC recognizes USB device and disk, but the device is not shown on My Computer. When windows installs driver it shows, WD Green 750GB etc…but nothing happens. WD SMartware doesn’t recognize WD Green Disk on another USB external casing. I tried also on mac, but it says i dont have access to USB device. It offeres me to repair disk, but it wont work (probably because password protection) and then offers to format disk. 

Can I  unlock WD Drive in another external3,5 case and access my files and folders? I know the password but WD Smartware doesnt recognize disk.

You need the board from the original enclosure. That encrypts the data whether you used Smartware or a password or not. There is no work around.

Ok. So if I don’t have board from the original enclosure, there is no way to encript the data. 

Formating hard disk than.
