Hdd not recognized

I have been the victim of repeated vandalisim, and am installing security cameras at my home. I have purchased a small “Passport” hdd for recording purposes, however the system does not recognize the hdd.

I am trying to install a “Passport” 1TB hdd to a home survaillence system, but I think I need to reformatt the hdd for Linux. How do I go about doing this?

Hello, I recommend you to first check the home surveillance system manual to know what are the supported formats, by default the Passport will come formatted in NTFS.

thank you for your responce. I have checked the system and it says it only supports linux format. so how do i reformat the hard drive for linux
