Hi all,
My situation is my G-Speed is full and I need to replace all the drives to keep the works go on.
For now, I did replace all 8 10TB-drives with other similar 10TB-drives. But I’m kind of lost and don’t know what to do next.
I have searched and have not found any clear guidance to config the new drives as the previous status (Raid 5).
Hope you guys can help me with this. I would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
PNQA
You will need to place all 8 drives into the enclosure and launch the Studio Software.
Once launched you will have to go to the Physical Disk tab and unlock the Dashboard.in the bottom corner. Once unlocked you can click the Settings button on each drive and change it from passthrough to unconfigured.
Once they are all set to unconfigured you can use the Wizard tab to create a RAID5.
Thanks a lot, Rydia! This could not be easier.
I also would like to ask about creating Raid0. Is it possible with my G-Speed Studio XL?
I know it is risky but the write speed of the HDDs is more important for me.
Please guide me if there is a way.
Thanks,
PNQA
Yes you can convert it to a RAID0 if you wish.
You would just chose Advanced in the Wizard tab and select your 8 drives. Then click next and then it asks to chose which RAID type. Chose 0 and you will be able to Add that to the Volume and continue through the wizard to complete it.
